Project description: In order to automate invoice processing, the University Hospital Bergmannsheil decided in 2007 to use SAP add-ons by inPuncto. Since the standard functions met almost all requirements, only a few software customizing had to be made. With the biz²ScanServer, the inbox processor for paper and e-mail invoices (e.g. PDF, TIFF) along with OCR recognition, the individual invoice fields are first read, compared with the customer / vendor entries in the SAP system and automatically assigned to the corresponding company code. Then the SAP workflow for invoice audit and invoice release (either via SAP or email) starts according to the authorizations and competencies of the involved parties defined in SAP. The archiving takes place with the archive software biz²Archiver, which is deeply integrated into SAP. The standard functions already fulfill the requirements for data security, so that audit-secure archiving of the documents is ensured.

Since there were no clinics with a focus on accident medicine at this time, Bergmannsheil is the first trauma clinic in the world. In 1977 Bergmannsheil with its long tradition in research and teaching became a university hospital. Even today, Bergmannsheil is specializes in the field of accident and emergency medicine with maximum care and has been certified as a trans-regional trauma center. It has 23 different clinics and specialist departments as well as several intensive care units, polyclinics and special outpatient clinics.
