Scanning in SAP™? The answer is: biz²Scanner – it is as simple as that!

SAP™ is the leading system for the company data and processes. What could be more reasonable than simply and safely allocating existing paper documents to corresponding SAP™ business objects?!

You realize central or decentralized scan scenarios in SAP™. So you can, for example in case of sensitive documents, scan the documents directly at the SAP™ workplace (by means of a document scanner) and allocate them directly to the SAP™ object. It cannot be any easier for the user.

In SAP™ the scan scenarios are set up– this means which SAP™ objects are you working with, which document types are you using? When you call the biz²Scanner this customizing is “taken“– the target-oriented archiving of the paper document is instantly available to you (e.g. directly out of  “object services“).

You determine in which format this shall be carried out - whether TIFF, PDF, PDF-A (both PDFs also “text searchable“).

You can determine this direct scanning as an in-place-version for the SAP™-GUI, or as an out-place version.

The transfer of the scanned image is carried out in the SAP™ Standard -> SAP™ HTTP(S).

The biz²Scanner also serves as a capture client for SAP™ in the framework of mass processing scenarios.

A central scan station calls the biz²Scanner via Windows and identifies itself as legitimate towards the SAP™ system. You can choose from a wide variety of scan scenarios– here various processes in the mass processor biz²ScanServer can be initiated. The server is responsible for the complete logic of this mass processing (e.g. automatic reading of invoices) – the biz²Scanner remains slim and easy in its operation!

How does it work?

 

The biz²Scanner can be integrated very differently as a capture software for SAP™:

  • in SAP™ DVS (DIS, in/out-place in the SAP™ GUI).
  • with ArchiveLink e.g. OAWD (in/out-place in the SAP™ GUI).
  • in the “generic object services “ of SAP™ (in/out-place in the SAP™ GUI).
  • in the SAP™ Records Management(in/out-place in the SAP™ GUI).
  • as an external entry system (as a Windows application for SAP™).
  • and others

 

 

As an easy capture client it also offers the following functions that can be learnt intuitively:

 

  • Browsing multi-page documents.
  • Shifting single pages in the document.
  • Copy/paste at current position.
  • Deleting all pages.
  • Inserting of any number of pages at the current position of the document.
  • Various zooming functions (e.g. scale to fit, zooming with frame).
  • Rotation of single pages.
  • Abort possible until the end.
  • Inserting images from a central directory.
  • Inserting digital separators.
  • Support of various scan scenarios.
  • And many more

 

 

It is important that it is a real SAP™ scan client with appropriate legitimization towards SAP™ via SAP™-RFC(s) and transfer images via SAP™-HTTP(S).

 

The separation of documents that is necessary in the mass processing and the triggering of further SAP™ processes are not performed on the client side in the biz²Scanner – but in our mass processor biz²ScanServer. Here the various scenarios are customized centrally.
