biz²Explorer displays virtual file structures directly in SAP™
Based on the basic philosophy of inPuncto – to regard SAP™ as the leading system – all business relevant objects and their dependencies as well as their shortcuts to documents are managed in SAP™.
Speaking about “virtual files“ in SAP™ we mean a defined view of an object, its dependencies and to visualize the corresponding documents. In addition to “structures“ of eFiles, thumbnails and the format specific viewer for the documents are considered of course.
With the biz²Explorer virtual file structures are displayed directly in SAP™, similar to the Microsoft Explorer. And this is carried out without SAP™ Records Management !

- Fast document overview instead of countless jumps in the transactions of the SAP™ system.
- Office-documents and Outlook e-mails can be filed directly (via biz²OfficeSynchronizer) in the SAP™ file and are visible in the biz²Explorer there.
- The record structure – this means the view of an object and its structures – is defined by the customer.
- Concerning TIFF or PDF files the solution also works with thumbnails. Integration of text display, Acrobat Reader, DIR-data-viewer, biz²Viewer (display of various pixel formats) is realized.
- biz²Explorer is a slim „eFiles“ visualizer.

How does it work?
Looking at the example of the personnel file the functions of the biz²Explorers become evident:
In the HR department you typically work with the transactions PA20/30. After choosing the personnel number you are in the management record of the corresponding member of staff.
Via the “generic object services“ SAP™ offers an ideal integration point for the biz²Explorer. According to the user login in SAP™, SAP™ already knows which authorizations the user posses concerning the eFile.
You can work with different info types (e.g. data concerning the person, etc.) in SAP™-HCM.
The biz²Explorer could now display a structure which– based on the personnel number – displays the different info types as “directories”.
One level further down there is also the possibility to allocate different document types to the different info types for example.
So in the biz²Explorer an additional structure level with details about the document types would be displayed.
On the lowest level the documents of the eFile are displayed– start format specific viewer.
Via thumbnails (e.g. with TIFF, PDF) the user can navigate easily through the file.
